To Tweet, or not to Tweet!

Technology: Time saver or not?
Many factors should be taken into consideration before answering this question in my opinion. I would first make note and clarify which area we are referring to as it relates to technology saving time or not. I believe there is little question that in the industrial industry technology has saved incredible amounts of time. Automobile manufacturing instantly comes to mind.

If I relate the question to technology tools and services that bring us a constant stream of information, I think many of us today struggle with the almost unlimited access, incredible availability to information and the endless ways to consume it. From email alerts, cell phone messages, Twitter "Tweets", Facebook updates and YouTube Videos. Information is all around us and organizing all of it can be a major challenge. I believe a good response could be “It all depends on what you’re doing with it”. If you’re using it to automate work or business processes or managing income & expenses, I believe the answer is “Yes”. If you are trying to write a new entry for your blog while you have your Facebook and Twitter account open at the same time then I believe the answer is “No”.

R.I.P - Michael Jackson!

Wow, I’m sure it’s not news now but the King of Pop, Michael has passed away. It’s crazy, my son, who is 5 loves his music. Not sure if there will be a special ceremony or event here in Hawaii to celebrate his life but I’m sure many would attend if something was organized. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. What ‘s interesting, on another note, is that’s Twitter, one of biggest Social Web 2.0 tools is going crazy with updates. Tweets are flying left and right. I had my Tweet Deck up and updates were coming in 100’s at a time.

Nowadays getting the word out has changed the planet. In a matter of seconds after the notification, the word on the street, or I should say in cyber space, is out to the world. There is no excuse for not being “In the Know” nowadays. This incredible and tragic example show’s us the power of social media. Quick note, I just saw a tweet by CNN with a TinyURL listing. The big mega media outfits are all over this phenomenon.

Do you have a business? Here’s a question for you, what are you using to get the word out about your latest product, service, or your networking opportunity? How are you driving traffic to your website? Do you have the business tools you need to grow your business? If you don’t please educate yourself on the opportunities available. There are a vast number of ways to Market yourself and your business. I’ve built three companies here in Hawaii and helped several non-profits increase their bottom line using multiple tools. If you do not have a business, start it now, regardless of how small. There are too many reasons why you should have one. We won’t get into the details of that subject matter on this blog though, I can however help you sift through all the noise out there.

Web 2.0 & President Obama

Web 2.0 Helped put Obama in the White House. What can it do for You?

I'm sure by now you know that Mr. Barack Obama's presidential run was also riding on the backbone of the super highway. With Web 2.0 tools at his disposal, he raised millions online and connected to hundreds of thousands on some of the most popular social networking sites like: Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter to name a few.

Some reports state that he raised over 28 million dollars online. Wow!

One item I was unaware of, until recently, was that his image and his unmistakable logo even turned up as advertising banners on some XBOX Live video games such as NBA LIVE. That’s right! As many young (and not so young) gamers were moving their joy stick to make a mid court steal and get that monster dunk that shatters the backboard, Obama was in the background on a bulletin board.

Needless to say, public office has made a shift to online. We all can take a lesson from President Obama’s genius online campaign plan. Web 2.0 works! Get in the game and get in now if you want to meet and greet the people in the know or if you want to be noticed yourself. Do you have a unique business services, great talent, or just want to meet more people? You need to get started. You don't have to be a politician to reap the benefits. It's time to sign up.

What is web 2.0 you say?

Web 2.0 is a trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to facilitate creativity, information sharing, and most notably, collaboration among users. These concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, wiki pages, & blogs. Although the term 2.0 suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to any technical specifications, but to a change in the way software developers and end-users create and use the internet.

What the Heck is this Blog About!

Aloha All! I did this a little backwards but that's alright, at least I'm doing something about it now. I should be explaining what my blog posts are all about in my first entry. So here's the info starting with my second posts.

These blog posts will be a series of updates and news for what's going on with my company (SoulHawaii Networks, Inc.) and what's new and FREE for Small Business owners. My passion is sharing information about FREE tools and services available to Entrepreneurs on the Internet. Doesn't matter if you are a Internetprenuer, Mommyprenuer, Kidprenuer, Soldierprenuer or non profit organizations looking to use the Internet and social media tools to promote their cause and collect more donations. In future post, I'll be touching on all (and more ) of the Entrepreneurs I've mentioned above. The Internet has leveled the playing field for all those whom are willing to take a chance on their future and venture into business. If you haven't read "The World Is Flat" by Thomas L. Friedman, you should. It's a major eye opener of the possibilities of business, for large and small business using the world wide web to connect share and make profits online.

Ok, here's a little bit about what's going on with my company, we are currently in the process of redeveloping and redesigning www.SoulHawaii.com to make the site more attractive and functional. Our content will also change. We want to add more videos and relative information that will be more appealing to local and mainland site visitors. Are you interested in exclusive events and activities that can increase your network connections and also put more money in your pocket? Then I think you'll be very interested what we'll have to offer. More updates to follow. If you have any ideas you'd like to share, please add comment below. Mahalo for now....

Training Training Training

Aloha Everyone... I want to take a moment to talk to you about what I try to do on a daily basis and what I'm currently doing while I'm writing this blog. It's training; just like going to the gym, walking for 30 min each day or any other form of exercise you do (or try to do), every day. In my case, it's Internet Marketing Training. If you guys know anything about me or what I do, you know I run my business online. Until recently, I've been using "Old School" methods of marketing, which didn't work. I was missing the proper training or mentorship. In my case, I never had a good mentor to tell me exactly what I needed to do to grow my business online. So, I turned to the Internet to find more information about what I could do to be a more effective Internet Marketer.

Long story short, the information I found has been incredible for my business growth. One thing I must tell you is that the information I've acquired was NOT FREE, I've had to invest time and money to attain this knowledge and after hours of training, implementing strategies and utilizing tools, I've had a break through which has more than paid for the training I've invested in.

Why should you care? Well I'll be sharing some of these techniques with you more & more as I continue to add content to this blog... but, wait, there's a catch. Yes, I know you're saying there's always a catch. Well the catch is that some of the knowledge you'll receive from me will be in the form of a referral to an online product, service or tool that I've used to grow my business and you'll have to pay for it. You know you may be saying, "Darn it! I have to pay!" Yes, you have to pay. Why should I try and reinvent the wheel when you can get the exact training I got from the same source I did, make sense right?

There's an upside to this. Number #1 is that I've done the research and testing and I'll only pass to you the programs, systems or tools that actually work, so you don't have to spend thousands of dollars like I did when I was trying to grow my business. Number #2 is that personal development is a priceless investment and the knowledge you will gain will pay you 10 fold, over and over, even while you sleep! Ok back to training.... Mahalo! Chat with you soon....
